Leaders Who Still Do the Work
For three decades, i3solutions has taken on the hardest Microsoft work: complex integrations, programs that have gone off track, environments that outgrew the team that built them, and initiatives that have to reach production with the governance and quality the program demands. The people who founded and run the firm are still in that work, not in advisory roles above it. They scope the problems, work alongside the senior teams that deliver them, and stay accountable through to production.

Scot Johnson
President and CEO, Co-Founder
Scot founded i3solutions in 1997 and sets the firm’s strategic direction as CEO. Three decades later, he remains directly involved in the technical work that most leaders step away from as their companies grow. He holds degrees in mechanical engineering and physical science, and that analytical discipline informs how he approaches complex systems.
His work with the Microsoft platform goes back to its earliest days, when he wrote one of the first books on Microsoft web development, later translated into fourteen languages. He has continued to develop that expertise ever since. He is co-inventor on three technology patents, held by i3solutions, that came out of his work automating proposal and business-development systems. He was applying machine learning and natural language processing to production programs years before the current wave of AI, and that experience shapes the advice he gives clients today: get the architecture, data, and workflows right first, so that AI strengthens a system rather than amplifying what is already broken. He remains personally involved in the firm’s most demanding programs, bringing the pattern recognition and engineering judgment to get them to production.
Michael co-founded i3solutions and is responsible for its operational direction, the firm’s longstanding relationship with Microsoft, and the compliance and delivery standards every engagement operates under. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford, and that discipline shows up in how the firm runs: requirements defined before design, process mapped before build, and architecture decisions made against how the client actually operates. He is co-inventor, with Scot, on the three technology patents i3solutions holds.
He works hands-on with clients on requirements, business process design, and solution architecture, and has overseen the delivery of more than 400 SharePoint migrations, including on-premises moves to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online. He also made the call that defined the firm: going deep on the Microsoft platform while other firms stayed broad. That depth is why i3solutions builds on what clients already own and leaves behind systems that hold up long after the work is done.

Justin Bowen
Senior Vice President, Delivery Services
Justin has led enterprise delivery at i3solutions since 2009, with more than twenty-five years running large-scale federal and commercial programs. He owns the governance structures, delivery standards, and outcomes every i3solutions engagement is measured against, and his responsibility spans the full delivery lifecycle, from intake and roadmap through execution, release, and operations.
He works inside the most complex programs rather than managing them from a distance, and he is the executive escalation point when an engagement is at risk. That way of operating is why so much of the firm’s work comes from clients who have already been through a delivery with him: engagements that start as a single project and continue for years. His standard is simple: every program reaches production in a state that holds up to audit.
