SharePoint Helps Multi-National Government Contractor Meet Customers’ Demanding Invoice, Tracking, and Auditing Requirements

Business Challenge

A multi-national government contractor needed an automated system which would meet the requirements of its potential client’s program.  This includes documentation, invoice status, security access, and auditing capabilities. In addition to compliance, the company identified a further need to implement a portal solution to provide its international population with an improved, user friendly portal to provide a single interface to its enterprise applications and to automate basic business processes. These basic internal business processes included procurement, time collection, and cash disbursement.  Lastly, the company wanted the new user interface to correspond with the new public website template that is currently in development.

Our Solution

The customer sought the help of i3solutions to devise a new SharePoint 2010 solution.  This solution would include the creation of several custom web parts and provide training for the company’s IT administrators. To achieve these goals, i3solutions leveraged its extensive technical expertise in SharePoint and vast knowledge in Portal design to provide guidance and best practices in the design of the customer’s Intranet.  The result was a robust SharePoint 2010 solution that interfaces with the customer’s scanning application, accounting software, and provided online invoice status to both the company and the government client.

Results

Without the internal system, the company would not meet its reporting requirements for the program and would be out of compliance.  In addition, this system will save time such that the customer will no longer have to manually create invoices and to respond to follow-up questions by hand.
