i3solutions spins off enterprise software company, Octant

Sterling, VA -  October 5, 2006. Sterling, VA based i3solutions spins off its newly formed company Octant to develop and market its Proposal Management Software. This software, called Enterprise Proposal Management Suite focuses on meeting the needs of proposal and business opportunity management. Octant will leverage i3solutions and channel partners for implementation, consulting and support.

i3solutions released its initial software tools, Proposal Generator and Proposal Management System, in 2003. As the successful product continues to gain customers, i3solutions' Chief Executive Officer Scot Johnson sees the creation of Octant as part of i3solutions' larger effort to diversify its offerings to the business community. "We believe that spinning off Octant will further accelerate the already growing demand for our product."

One major benefit of the new company will be a shift in the way potential customers perceive it. "Because Octant was part of i3solutions, which sells a variety of technology products, potential customers may have judged there to be a conflict of interest or dilute its perception in the market," said Michael Branson, Chief Operating Officer.

i3solutions plans to continue working with Octant on marketing, development, implementation and industry partnerships. "Our goal is to become the leading enterprise proposal management software supplier to the business community," said Scot Johnson. Mr. Johnson will also serve as interim Chief Executive Officer of Octant.

The proposal management marketplace is at the core of almost every business. "We believe Octant is well positioned to increase its leadership in the markets, including management of Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts."
